The team that builds your AI system is the team that runs it.

No bait-and-switch. We tell you who's on your engagement before a contract is signed — because that's the whole point of hiring a focused firm instead of a Big Four consultancy.

Small, focused, backed by an established operator

Skyview Labs is the private AI solutions practice of Spectrum Virtual — an established IT services organization headquartered in Cheshire, CT that has been running production systems for businesses, regulated operations, and public-sector clients since 2013.

The Skyview AI engineering team is small on purpose. Two senior practitioners handle architecture, build, deployment, and ongoing engineering on every engagement — concentrated expertise, no junior hand-off, no offshore drift. They are backed by the Spectrum Virtual NOC, security operations, helpdesk, and Microsoft license-management team that already runs production environments for our existing client base.

The structural answer to "what happens if Skyview disappears in 18 months" is simple: Spectrum Virtual doesn't disappear. It has been operating since 2013 and is the legal entity behind every Skyview engagement. We are transparent about this because procurement teams should — and do — ask.

AI engineering

The dedicated AI practice. The people who lead your engagement and own the work end-to-end.

Darren Reeves

Founder
// Founder + CEO, Spectrum Virtual

Darren founded Spectrum Virtual in 2013 and has spent more than a decade running production infrastructure for businesses, regulated operations, and public-sector clients across the Northeast and Midwest. He started Skyview Labs as the dedicated AI practice inside that operation when it became clear the AI consulting market needed firms that could actually host, secure, and operate the systems they sold — not just demo them.

His work on Skyview engagements concentrates on architecture, security posture, and the practical economics of moving AI workloads from public APIs to private infrastructure. He leads engagement scoping and design across the firm.

EXPERTISE
  • AI architecture
  • Private cloud infrastructure
  • Kubernetes operations
  • Security + compliance posture
  • Engagement scoping
  • Multi-site colocation

Keith Ouellette

Engineering Lead
// Engineering, Spectrum Virtual

Keith leads the build engineering on Skyview Labs engagements — turning client workflows into production AI applications, integrated with the systems of record clients already run. His work spans the full Skyview stack: self-hosted model deployment, retrieval pipelines, agentic workflow systems, and the integration surface that connects AI capability to the CRMs, ERPs, and case-management platforms enterprise clients depend on.

He works alongside Darren from initial Discovery through production deployment and into ongoing managed operations.

EXPERTISE
  • AI application development
  • Retrieval-augmented systems

The shared Spectrum Virtual operations team

Backing the Skyview AI practice: the Spectrum Virtual infrastructure operation that has been running production systems since 2013. NOC, security ops, network engineering, and helpdesk — all available to every Skyview engagement under managed operations.

Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP)

Spectrum Virtual is a Microsoft CSP Indirect Reseller — we can procure M365, Copilot, Power Platform, and Azure licenses for clients, manage tenants under our partner of record, and bundle license costs into managed-services engagements. One contract, one bill, one team accountable end-to-end.

Network Operations Center (NOC)

24/7 monitoring + alerting across all client workloads. Infrastructure incidents get human eyes on them in minutes, not hours. The same NOC that has run Spectrum Virtual production since 2013.

Security operations

Edge security (Cloudflare-fronted), zero-trust administrative access, encrypted secrets management, dependency patching, cert rotation, and incident response — applied to every Skyview-operated environment.

Data center + colo relationships

Established TierPoint colo relationships in Marlborough, MA and Chicago, IL — and our own server room in Cheshire, CT. Procurement, capacity planning, and vendor management handled by the Spectrum Virtual operations team that has been running these relationships for over a decade.

Network engineering

Private fiber backbone, multi-PoP peering, direct-connect partnerships, VPN + DDoS protection. The networking expertise that makes "sub-10ms to NYC" a real claim and not a marketing line.

Helpdesk + client operations

For clients who run a managed-operations engagement, the Spectrum Virtual helpdesk is the support layer — direct engineering escalation when needed, no tier-one queue.

Why we tell you all of this

The default AI consulting pitch — generic team page with stock photos, vague claims about "decades of combined experience," no names, no titles, no structural transparency — is the pitch we built Skyview Labs to be the alternative to.

We tell you who is on your engagement. We tell you which legal entity stands behind it. We tell you what the operating company has done before and how long it has been doing it. None of this is theatrical — it is what serious procurement requires, and what serious clients deserve before signing a contract.
